A “Winter Weather Advisory” remains in effect

The entire WHUR listening area remains under a “Winter Weather Advisory” until 10 tomorrow morning. Locally, we are expecting a dusting to 3 inches of snow by the morning. Tonight’s evening rush hour could be affected as well.

Secrete Service discovers a drone on the White House lawn

The Secret Service has confirmed that a commercial drone was found on the Executive Mansion Southeast lawn. It was quickly detected, the White House was placed on lock down. It was later determined not to be a threat to the White House or the general public. The Secret Service is looking into whether this was intentional or accidental. The President and the First Lady were not home at the time, they are both in India. The Obama children and grandmother were inside the home. Agents say they were never in any danger.

New Yorker’s brace for 3 feet of snow in the next 24 hours

A Nor’Eastern that is threatening to bring historic snow totals to New York and Boston is expected to dump 3 feet of snow in the region. New York’s Governor Andrew Cuomo is urging residents to stay home and off the roads. There’s even word that the city may have to shut down the bus and subway systems before the evening rush hour. The White House says President Obama is monitoring the situation from India and he has pledge any support or services that the region may need should this monster storm hit as hard as it is predicted to hit.
