“Wind Advisory” is now inn effect in DC

We have another weather advisory this morning. The entire WHUR listening area is now under a “Wind Advisory” until Midnight. We could see wind gusts up to 50 mphs.

Washington Navy Yards changes the name of building 197

The Washington Navy Yard has renamed building 197, The Joshua Humphreys Building. In 2013 it was the site of a bloody mass shooting that claimed 12 lives. The gunman a government contractor was killed by police. Today 400 workers returned to a newly renovated building, complete with a new entrance, color
scheme, office layout and cafeteria. There’s also a special area to remember those who lost their lives. Hundreds more will return in the coming weeks.

Montgomery County’s School Superintendent Dr. Joshua Starr future hangs in the balance

Montgomery County’s School Superintendent Dr. Joshua Starr has until the close of business today, to notify the school board if he wants to stay on for another 4 years as the head of the school system. The school board is set to meet behind closed doors on Tuesday before making a decision on March 1st on whether to renew his contract or not. Several members have commented that they no longer believe in him.
