President Obama take up this issue of extremism at the White House

Right now, President Obama is hosting a White House summit on countering violent extremism. Today’s meeting will focus on domestic and international efforts to prevent such acts here at home.

A manhole explodes in the district…

A manhole exploded in the District this morning and surprisingly no one was hurt. It happened around 7:30 at the intersection of 17th “L” Streets in NW. Fire crews had to put out an underground fire.

Today’s Ash Wednesday….

It’s Ash Wednesday for millions of Catholics today. Today marks the start of Lent season which run until Easter Sunday. Easter Sunday is April 5th this year. The Historic Alfred Street Baptist Church in Alexandria is offering “Ashes to go” drive up services from Noon to 1 and 6 to 7pm.
