Maureen McDonnell learns her punishment for her corruption conviction…

Right now, Virginia’s former first lady Maureen McDonnell is in a Richmond courtroom awaiting her sentence on corruption charges. The same judge that sentenced her husband, former Governor Bob McDonnell last month to two years in prison will also decide her fate today. McDonnell could get a much as 1 and half years in prison or as little as 4 thousand hours of community service.

A former Democratic Chair is caught allegedly plotting to kill two young girls he accused of molesting…

A former Fall Church Democratic Party Chair is now under investigation for allegedly plotting with an inmate to kill two young girls set to testify against him again for sexual assault. Michael Garden was found guilty of molesting the 9 and 10 year olds who where spending a night with his daughter, but he was granted a new trial over a technicality. Garden’s new trial is next month.

UDC officials hold a public meeting on closing one of their campuses…

UDC Officials are planning to hold a 3pm public meeting about plans to possibly close their downtown campus on North Capitol Street. If approved, all classes would be held at the Van Ness campus. At issue is the rising cost to rent the downtown location. Tonight’s meeting will be held at the North Capitol Street campus.
