30,000 furloughs are in line if Congress can not reach a deal on funding DHS….

The fight over funding the Department of Homeland Security continues, however lawmakers only have until Friday to agree on a funding budget or 30,000 employee’s will be furloughed and another 200,000 essential workers will have to work without pay. The big sticking point, GOP leaders have approved a bill that ties DHS funding to a plan to reverse President Obama’s Executive Order on Immigration Reform. Both sides remain cautiously optimistic that a deal will be reached in time.

DC Police search for two suspects in a fatal shooting in N.E….

The search continues for two suspects wanted for the fatal shooting of a man this morning in apartment in the Brookland neighborhood this morning. The adult male has not been identified. Police were called to the reports of shots fire around 1am in the 25-hundred block of 14th Street in North East.

Prince George’s County Circuit and District Houses are closed for a third day…

The Prince George’s County Circuit and District Court Houses remain closed again today. Last week the court houses were closed for two days because of the cold temperatures that burst a water main, knocking out power to the building. Over the weekend the frigid temperatures caused more pipe to burst. One officials says a few bond hearings are taking place today in the District Court House. It’s unclear when they will resume regular operations.
