Tanker Truck accident closes the ICC in Laurel…

A tanker truck that landed on its side spilling bio diesel fuel is creating a nightmare for commuters this hour in Laurel. At last check all southbound lanes of I-95 near the ICC in Laurel were closed and only one lane on the Northbound side was getting by. Hazmat crews are expected to be on the scene for several hours today.

The nations first African American Senator is laid to rest…

Right now, funeral services are being held for former Senator Edward Brooke at the National Cathedral. Brooke who grew up in this area and graduated from Howard University, went on to become the first African American Senator. He died of natural causes in January at his home in Florida. Brooke was 95 years old.

It’s official, U.S. Representative Donna Edwards has entered the Senate race to fill the seat of retiring Senator Barbara Mikulski. Edwards released a video this morning on her campaign web site.
