Juveniles in DC will no longer be required to be shackled when they appear in court…

At Noon D.C. At-Large Council member Kenyan McDuffie, Attorney General Karl Racine and other city leaders will gather to announce some big changes to the justice system as it pertains to juveniles who appear in court. Starting on Monday no longer will juveniles appearing in court be required to wear shackles. Leaders plan to unveil finding in a recent report. Today’s press conference is at the DC Superior Court House.

Smoke at two metro stations caused major delays this am, they are now open….

Metro has reopened the Glenmont and Wheaton Stations after being closed for about an hour due to reports of smoke in the tunnels. The cause is still unknown. The trains are now reportedly single tracking, look for delays.

DC Police search for other victims of a Craigs List scam….

DC Police are looking for anyone on Craigs List who may have connected with the screen name Chrissanchez0906@yahoo.com. That address has been linked to a 21 year old woman who has been charged with the stabbing death of DC Attorney David Messerschmitt. Jamyra Gallmon of S.E. admitting to posting an ad as a male, which Messerschmitt responded two. He was later found stabbed to death in the hotel room were the two were scheduled to meet. Gallmon said she only planned to rob him. Police believe there could be other victims.
