One person dead, three others injured in head on collision in Beltsville…

Police have not identified the cause or the victim from this mornings fatal crash in Beltsville. One person was pronounced dead on the scene and three others are clinging onto life after the vehicle they were in crossed into on coming traffic hitting a trash truck head on. It happened in the 11,000 block of Edmonston Road.

Thousand turn out at the White House for annual Easter tradition…

The 137th Annual White House Easter Egg Roll festivities have begun the President and First Lady made a guest appearance just after 10:30 this morning. Once the day long event is over, over 35,000 families from all across the country will have taken part in today’s event. The theme is “Give me five”. It’s apart of the first lady’s “Let’ Move Initiative”.

Security is stepped up at National Zoo activities today…

Families are also planning to take part in another local East Monday tradition. It’s “Family Day” at the National Zoo and because of violence during past celebrations officials are stepping up security, including bag checks and metal detectors.
