Census Bureau security guard dies, Headquarters opens up 2 hours late…

The Census Bureau Headquarters in Suitland is now open. Officials delayed the opening by 2 hours this morning following news that a security guard shot in the line of duty yesterday died. The guard has been identified as 59 year old Lawrence Buckner. The gunman who reportedly kidnapped his wife was shot during an exchange of gun fire with police, following a high speed chase that ended in N.E. DC.

Anne Arundel County Police Officer shot, remains in critical condition…

An Anne Arundel County Police Officer is fight for his life this hour after being shot earlier this morning. The office was responding to an incident at 7’11 on College Parkway just after 2 am. The suspects remains on the loose.

Thousands set to flock to DC for the Annual Cherry Blossom Festival…

The Annual Cherry Blossom Parade is tomorrow. The National Park Service is preparing for thousands of visitors this weekend for the festivities. The Cherry Blossom Festival ends this weekend. The parade is from Noon to 2pm on Saturday starting along Constitution Avenue between 7th and 17th Streets, NW.
