Fairfax County Police spokesman appears in court on child pornography charges…

The Fairfax County Police spokesman arrested for possession of child pornography on Wednesday made his first court appearance this morning. Bud Walker will return to court tomorrow for a bond hearing.

Gyro copter pilot who landed on the U.S. Capitol ground do in court this afternoon…

At 1:30 this afternoon the 61 year old mailman from Florida will appear in court to answer to charges that he illegally entered restricted air space when he landed a gyro copter on the U.S. Capitol lawn yesterday. Doug Hughes says he wanted to hand deliver letters to each member in Congress protesting campaign financing.

The District celebrates 153 years of freedom…

It’s Emancipation Day in the District of Columbia. The day began with a Prayer Breakfast led by the Rev. Al Sharpton. The parade wrapped us just a few minutes ago. Now crowds are preparing for the 4:30 free concert at Freedom Plaza. The line up includes Doug E. Fresh and Eric Benet to name a few. The fireworks are set for 8:45 tonight.
