Protests continue in Baltimore over the death of a man in police custody last week…

Protesters in Baltimore are not backing down, they want the 6 officers suspended with pay, fired and arrested. Hundreds gathered again last night calling on police do take immediate action. The Department of Justice has launched a federal investigation into how 25 year old Freddie Gray ended up with 80% of his spinal cord at his neck severed. He died a week later from his injuries.

A Prince George’s County Police Officer appears in court on misconduct charges…

A Prince George’s County Police Office is due in court today for striking a 15 year old who was waiting in a holding area at a juvenile facility. The incident involving Officer Jerry Thomas was caught on tape back in 2012 at the District III Juvenile Processing Center. Thomas faces misconduct charges instead of assault charges because by the time the police department presented their case to the States Attorney’s Office the statue of limitation had ran out.

Montgomery County Executive Ike signs off on 6 major bills today…

Right now, Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett is signing 6 bills into law. The bills have to do with human trafficking, hiring preferences for county Veterans and pay equity.
