Today’s the tax deadline…
Today is the deadline for procrastinators to file their federal income tax returns. But while Americans are focused on their own tax returns, they aren’t likely to see President Trump’s anytime soon. When asked by a reporter yesterday whether President Trump would release them, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer replied, “We’ll have to get back to you on that.” He added that Trump’s returns are “under audit.”
Army Officials return to the deadly helicopter crash site for answers….
One person is dead after an Army helicopter from Fort Belvoir crashed at a golf course in Maryland. Army officials will be back on the scene today looking for clues to why the helicopter went down during the training mission Monday. The base said three people were on board the Black Hawk helicopter. The other two were hospitalized in critical and serious conditions. Maryland State Police said yesterday’s crash happened on the Breton Bay Golf Course in Leonardtown.
City leaders approve a plan to make Hyattsville a sanctuary city…
A local city is entering the national debate over illegal immigration. The Hyattsville City Council last night voted to become a sanctuary city. The resolution says enforcing federal immigration laws is not a proper use of the city’s resources. It also says no official may inquire about someone’s citizenship or immigration status, and no one can detain someone solely for being in the country illegally.
President Trump prepares to sign off on a new executive order to hire Americans…
President Trump will sign an executive order today to encourage companies to hire American workers. The “Buy American and Hire American” executive order will bring changes to the temporary visa program that companies use to hire high-skilled foreign workers.
