It’s the first day of confirmation hearings for President-elect Trumps cabinet selections…

Confirmation hearings begin this morning for President-elect Donald Trumps choice as U.S Attorney General Jeff Sessions. In an unprecedented move NJ Senator Cory Booker plans to testify against his nomination. Some Democrats and members of the Congressional Black Caucus also plan to testify against him. The Democrats do not have enough votes to block the nomination.

All eyes will be on Chicago tonight for President Obama 9 O’clock farewell address. White House spokesman Josh Ernest says he will focus on the progress made in the country during his tenure and well as mention what Americans will need to be aware of when he leaves office.

Metro says it’s not their job to get passengers out of trains in an emergency…

Metro says they are not responsible for helping passengers get out of smoke filled tunnels in the event on an emergency and they are asking a judge to drop all lawsuits related to the fatal 2015 smoke incident at L’enfant Plaza. WMATA says they are a government created agency and can’t be used and the blame lies on DC EMS.
