New Vaccination Requires For Prince George’s Co. Students, Aretha Franklin Did Not Have A Will

New vaccination requires for Prince George’s Co. students…

The fall semester is two weeks away for students in Prince George’s County. The first day of school is after Labor Day, on Tuesday, September 4.

This year there are also some new vaccination requirements for students in 7th through 11th grades. Those students will now need the Tdap and meningococcal vaccines.

On Saturday the Prince George’s County Public School System is holding a free Block Party. It will take place from 9am to 2pm at the Prince George’s Stadium, Home of the Bowie Baysox, 4101 Craine Highway, Bowie, Md 20175.

The 8th Annual Back to School Fair will include vendors, information about student services, celebrity guests, door prizes and free backpacks (children must be present to receive a backpack)

Aretha Franklin did not have a will…

The attorney for the Queen of Soul did not have a will or trust at the time of her death. It is a surprise to many who knew her. Her net worth is estimated at $80 million dollars. Her four sons have filed documents in court as interested parties in her estate.

Attorney Don Wilson says he tried for years to get Franklin to set up a trust to avoid her wealth from going public in probate court. Probate is the next process. First creditors will be notified and someone need to be appointed a personal representative to handle the estate and to do an inventory of assets.

A private funeral service for Aretha Franklin will be held on Friday, August 31 at Greater Grace Temple in Detroit. The public is invited, though, to a viewing at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History on Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m., and then on Thursday from noon to 4 p.m. at New Bethel Baptist Church where Franklin grew up worshiping and where her father was a pastor.
