Police arrest a suspect in Metro bus shooting…
A person is under arrest for firing a pellet gun at a Metrobus. DC’s Metro Transit Police say the incident happened around 1:15 this morning near Congress Place and Alabama Avenue, SE. No one was on the bus and nobody was injured. The pellets did cause minor damage to a window. There’s no word on why the gun was fired at the bus.
No bond for ex-boyfriend charged in the murder of Pamela Butler….
A Federal judge has ordered the ex-boyfriend of EPA worker Pamela Butler to be held without bond for her murder. Butler has been missing for 8 years now. During a court appearance Monday, prosecutors pointed to new evidence against Jose Rodriguez-Cruz, including a witness account that was allegedly falsified. Butler’s family members say they’re relieved, but not surprised. Rodriguez-Cruz will face another hearing on April 25. Butler was 47 when she disappeared in 2009. Her body has yet to be found.
Police searching for answers in San Bernardino murder-suicide…
Friends and family of teacher Karen Smith are expressing shock after her estranged husband walked into her San Bernardino, California classroom and shot her, himself, and two children. Only one of the victims, a nine-year-old, survived. Smith’s mother says her daughter only married Cedric Anderson in January after knowing him for years, but the relationship quickly soured.
