NTSB Begins Investigation Into Deadly South Carolina Train Crash

Federal investigators think a switch out of place led to a deadly train crash in South Carolina. NTSB Chairman Robert Sumwalt said the track switch routed an Amtrak train onto a track where a CSX freight train was sitting. Investigators back in Washington are also looking at a video for more clues into the crash. At least two people died in the crash near Columbia early Sunday morning and over 100 others were hurt. Amtrak’s president seems to be blaming CSX for the track switch issue. He said the rail company controls the track, signaling and switching in the area. Meantime, the NTSB has recovered video from a camera on board the Amtrak train, but it’s still looking for data recorders from both trains.
