Republicans move a step closer to replacing Obamacare overnight…
The Republican health care bill is moving forward after scoring its first victory on Capitol Hill. The House Ways and Means Committee has approved the measure following an 18-hour session. The House Energy and Commerce Committee is still considering the bill, which provides refundable tax credits to buy health insurance and gets rid of the individual mandate.

In 1977 12 men took over three government buildings in DC. 150 people were taken hostage, WHUR journalist Maurice Williams was shot and killed and then DC Council Member Marion Barry was shot and survived. The group’s leader Hamaas Abdul Khaalis was demanding justice for his family that were killed when his home on 16th street was stormed by gunmen. Tonight at 6 at the Wilson Building the City Council will hold a panel discussion with survivors, leaders and the community. There will also be a photo exhibit for that fateful day.
FCC launches an investigation into AT&T customers who could not call 911…
The FCC has now launched an investigation into the matter of AT&T customers in several states that could not call 911. Customers can once again call 911 on their cellphones. AT&T tweeted the issue that affected states across the country last night has been resolved. Law enforcement agencies reported outages in states including Washington, DC, Virginia, Maryland, Texas, Florida, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Colorado, Illinois, and Indiana. AT&T did not give an explanation for the problem.
