Senate Democrats boycott two Trump nominees…
Right now Senate Democrats are boycotting the committee votes for President Donald Trump’s choice for Health and Human Services and Treasury Secretary. Meanwhile Judiciary Committee is set to vote on whether or not to make Senator Jeff Sessions the next U.S. Attorney General. Tonight at 8 President Trump will reveal the name of the person he wants to become the next U.S. Supreme Court Judge.
A wild bobcat remains on the loose in DC…
Ollie the female wild bobcat is still on the loose and because of potential siting in Ward 3 there will be no outside activities for school kids today. The 25-pound wild animal escaped from her enclosure yesterday. Zoo keepers are following up on two calls of an animal that match her description in the Woodley and Cleveland Park area.
Howard announces a multi-million dollar deal to build and improving student housing…
Howard University President Dr. Wayne Frederick has announced a long term partnership with Corvias to proved a solution to the university’s student housing. The plan calls for
the renovation of two dorms, the East and West Towers on Sherman Avenue in NW. Dr. Frederick said they hope to help students who are academically doing well but do not have the financial means to stay on campus. Corvias has already raised $144 (M) dollars for the project, 71 (M) of which will go to the towers renovation and maintenance.
