Senate Healthcare Bill In Limbo

The revised GOP healthcare bill is running into some challenges. The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office delayed its assessment of the bill by at least a day. Its assessment was expected to unveil the bill’s impacts today. Meanwhile, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell delayed a procedural vote to move the bill forward this week. McConnell is counting on a yes vote from Senator John McCain but McCain is recovering from surgery to remove a blood clot from his left eye. The Arizona Republican is not expected back for several days. Without McCain, McConnell may not have the votes needed to move the bill forward.

Deadline Looms For Washington QB Cousins

The season is months away, but today is a crucial day for the Washington’s pro football team.. Today at 4 p.m. is when the team and quarterback Kirk Cousins must reach a long-term deal. If they can’t reach an agreement, and ESPN reported yesterday they will not, Cousins will play under the franchise tag for the second straight season. That would cost the team about 24-million dollars this year alone and puts Cousins very much in the driver’s seat for free agency next season.
