Teen Arrested In Stabbing Death

18-year-old Kyla Jones expected in court today in connection with the stabbing death of another teen Monday night. DC police say Jones stabbed Kaelia Minor in the chest after the two argued over a cell phone on a Metrobus. It happened at Emerson Street and Kansas Avenue, three blocks from Minor’s Northwest Washington home.

Final Presidential Debate Happens Tonight

The last presidential debate is tonight. Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Hillary Clinton will square off in Las Vegas. Trump is expected to continue making claims about a “rigged election.” In a news conference yesterday, President Obama advised Trump to stop trying to discredit an election that hasn’t happened yet. Obama also told Trump to “stop whining.”

Voter Registration Lawsuit

The Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights is suing the Virginia Department of Elections and the Commonwealth’s Board of Elections to get an injunction ordering them to extend the voter registration deadline by at least three full days. The group says the system breakdowns on Monday prevented some Virginians from signing up to vote in the presidential election. Elections officials say the online system was down Monday because of “unprecedented activity.” Twenty-one thousand registrations were successfully submitted in a single day.
