The death toll from Michael increases…

The death toll from Michael has increased to 11. FEMA added 5 more victims from Virginia this morning . During a news conference this morning with FEMA chief Brock Long said that his staff is dealing with widespread devastation throughout the Florida Panhandle, Georgia, The Carolina’s and parts of Virginia.

There are over 1-million residents without power. Crews are dealing with massive structural damages and down trees. Officials say it could weeks before power is restored to everyone. President Trump is expected to visit the region soon, a date has not been confirmed.

A woman is shot in Georgetown, gunman still on the loose…

DC Police are still looking for the suspect wanted for shooting a woman twice overnight in Georgetown. The shooting happened in the 1-thousand block of Wisconsin Avenue near Water Street in Northwest. The victim however, was found a short distance from the crime scene.

The victim suffered non life threatening injuries. Investigators are looking for a black Dodge Neon with a purple border around the license plate.

DC Arch Bishop Donald Wuerl steps down…

The Pope has officially accepted the resignation of The Washington Arch Bishop Cardinal Donald Wuerl. The announcement from the Vatican came this morning.

There have been calls that the 77 year old Wuerl resign after a report over the summer by the church showed that he knew of over 300 pedophile Priest in Philadelphia when he was the Bishop of Pittsburgh from 1988 to 2006. He’s accused of doing nothing to protect the victims or other children or punishing the Priest. He was also under fire for knowing about the allegations of abuses by his predecessor in Washington, Cardinal Theodore McCarrick. His replacement has not been named and Wuerl will remain a Cardinal.
