Local NAACP Chapter Wants School CEO Kevin Maxwell’s Contract Delayed, President Racks in Millions For His Re-election Bid…

A local chapter of the NAACP is asking for a delay in signing the School CEO’s new contract.

The President of the Prince George’s County NAACP, Robert Ross has sent a letter to Prince George’s County Executive Rushern Baker to hold off on giving Schools CEO Kevin Maxwell a raise and a new 5-year contract. Ross says Baker should wait until the State is completed with its investigation into claims of systemic grade changes to improve the county’s graduation numbers. The new contract is due to be signed on July 1st.

Teen killed by VRE train was walking with her family…

Fairfax County Police are reminding residents to adhere to warnings to stay away and off of railroad tracks. The advice follows the death of a 13-year-old girl who was hit and killed yesterday while walking across Bull Run Bridge with her family. The teen has not been identified, but we know she attended Lake Braddock Secondary School in Burke.

Trump raises $10(M) for his re-election bid…

Last night was a big night for President Donald Trump. He raised $10 Million dollars at his first fundraiser for his 2020 re-election bid. The event for his wealthy donors cost them $35,000 per person to attend. It was held at Trump International in DC.
