Tropical Storm Hermine Could Affect the DMV This Weekend…

Hermine has made landfall in Florida, it could affect us…

Now Tropical Storm Hermine, made landfall this morning in Florida as a Hurricane. It’s the first one to make landfall in 10 years. It’s bring strong winds and heavy rains. The Governor has declared a state of emergency for 51 counties. If the storm continues on the current track we could see cloudy skies and some rain or a passing shower on Saturday or Sunday. Labor Day Monday is looking good, for now.

6 employee’s apart of the Head Start program in Prince George’s Co. have been removed…

Prince George’s County School CEO Kevin Maxwell has announced six employee’s apart of the county’s Head Start program have been removed. Three have been terminated and three have been recommended for termination. It follows the program loosing $6 million dollars in grants for allegations of abuse. CEO Maxwell says we will not tolerate this type of behavior.

4 separate shootings in DC, one ends fatally …..

There were four shootings in DC last night –one of which was deadly. Two shootings took place in S.E. and two in N.E. The victim killed in the 25,00 block of 14th Street has not been identified.
