Metro Union member’s vote to strike…

Metro’s largest union has voted overnight to strike. Now leaders must meet to decide if they will strike and if so when. According to Amalgamated Transit Union Local 689 President Jackie Jeter if a strike is approved they will have to give Metro a 5-day notice. A strike would pull 9,000 bus, train and administrative employees off the front lines. At issue is a long-standing debate with Metro leaders over their contract.
