Trump: Comey Was Not Doing A Good Job

President Trump says FBI Director James Comey  was fired for not doing a good job. Trump made the comment today at a White House photo-op with former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger. In an earlier tweet, the President said Comey had “lost the confidence of almost everyone in Washington.” Trump added that he’ll nominate someone who will “do a far better job.” Speaking at the Capitol today, Vice President Pence said it’s “time for a fresh start.”

Six People Injured In Shootings

Three men and three juveniles are injured after two shootings in the District. DC Police say the first incident happened in the 300 block of Franklin Street, NE around 6:15 p.m. yesterday. Three male teenagers were struck with gunfire and taken to the hospital in stable condition. In the other shooting, three men were injured in the five-thousand block of Benning Road, SE around 9:00 last night. All victims were alert and breathing.

Warrant Issued For Clinton Portis

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of former Redskins running back Clinton Portis. Officials in Montgomery County say Portis failed to show up in county court yesterday on traffic charges. He’s accused of driving in Bethesda with a suspended Florida license back in January. Portis’ license was suspended because he also failed to make a Florida court date.

Jury Deliberations Start Over in Corinne Brown Case

Jury deliberations are starting over in the Corrine Brown trial. Today the judge dismissed one of the jurors who kept referring to “higher beings” and replaced the juror with an alternate. Those already in place are being told to disregard all previous discussions. In the federal fraud trial, the government claims the former Congresswoman used a fake charity as a personal slush fund.
