Metropolitan Police and Prince George’s County Police are looking for the gunman who shot and killed a road crew member on the job.

Around 4:30 on Wednesday police were called to the 5100 block of Southern Avenue in Southeast following reports of a shooting.

Upon arrival they found a man with a gunshot wound. The victim was working with a road crew in the area along Southern Avenue when the incident happened. He was rushed to a near by hospital were he later died. His identity has not been released.

Witnesses say the victim and suspect got into some type of dispute before he construction worker was shot. The gunman fled on foot after the shooting into Maryland. Anyone with information in this case should call police.
