Now children in the District who have to appear in court to testify about sexual exploitation or sex trafficking can have a four legged friend to make the process a little easier.
Pepper the dog will now join kids to help soothe them during this process that can be scary. The dog helps the child to relax and to feel safe. Pepper is apart of the city’s HOPE program. HOPE is an acronym for Here Opportunities Prepare you for Excellence.
Pepper has already helped 6 children in separate cases that experience trauma from being a victim of this ever growing crime. For more information about this you can click here
