Jack Evans Wants To Make His Case

DC Councilman Jack Evans wants to keep his chairmanship on the DC Council. Evans asked the council chairman for an opportunity to address the council.

DC Council Chairman Phil Mendelson has not ruled out removing Jack Evans from his Finance Committee chairmanship. Evans is under federal investigation over accusations he used his position on the Council and Metro’s Board for personal gain. Today, Evans asked for a chance to plead his case, telling Mendelson that if the council heard his side of the story, he answered of all its question, Mendelson would not take any action against him at this time.  Evans is scheduled to chair a meeting on DC sports betting tomorrow.
