A Raisin in the Sun, Harold Melvin’s Bluenotes and a Financial Literacy Workshop


  • The Classic Play by Lorraine Hansberry, A Raisin in the Sun is at the Arena Stage running through May 7th. Go to arenastage.org for showtimes.
  • The Tony Award Winning Musical “Ragtime” is at the Ford’s Theater thru May 20th, show times are 7:30pm.
  • The critically acclaimed Tony Award Winning production, “Chicago” is at the Kennedy Center running through April 16th and features R&B singer Brandy. Show times are 7:30 and 1:30 matinee’s.
  • On Sunday, Harold Melvin’s Bluenotes will perform at Bethesda Blues and Jazz Supper Club. Showtime is 7:30
  • On Easter Sunday, The Legendary Howard Theatre presents their Sunday Gospel Brunch featuring The Harlem Gospel Choir. This all kicks off at 1:30.
  • Bailey Wealth Advisors along with the National Council of Negro Women, the Potomac Valley Section are hosting a free financial literacy workshop this Saturday from 12noon to 2pm at the People’s Community Baptist Church in Silver Spring. More information at www.baileywealthadvisors.com
