Coats For The Winter

WHUR’s Children’s Coat Drive runs through Oct. 31st.

Helping homeless children and parents.  My guest this morning is part of that safety net for those falling on hard times in Prince George’s County.  Shepherd’s Cove Shelter is one of the organizations we work with yearly to provide new coats for needy youth for our Annual WHUR Children’s Coat Drive.  My guest is Charlene Johnson – Director of Homeless Services for Shepherd’s Cove Shelter

Typically, WHUR is able to host a Coat Drive at an area mall and with the generous donation from our listeners we collect hundreds of new coats, hats, and gloves for needy youth.  This year we have to take monetary donations online to purchase the coats.   WHUR is hosting its Children’s Coat Drive thru October 31st.  You can make a donation online at whur.com.  Help us to purchase new coats and other winter gear for kids in need across the DMV.

Tune in to Taking it to the Streets, weekday mornings at 6:15, 7:08 and 8:40 on the Steve Harvey Morning Show on 96.3 WHUR.
