DC Jazz Fest, Juneteenth Celebration and J-Raz Father’s Day Cook Out

Weekend Haps Update for the Father’s Day Weekend

 

  • The DC Jazz Festival is in full swing. On the Yards on the Capital River Front check out Robert Glasper on Saturday and Gregory Porter on Sunday.  More information on the complete schedule can be found here:

 

  • On Friday, Bethesda Blues and Jazz Supper Club presents, InGratitude: A Tribute to Earth Wind & Fire.  Door open at 6 show time is 8pm.  Then on Sunday, Lenny Williams takes the stage for two shows 1pm and again at 7pm.

 

  • The 9th Annual Sister II Sister Sorority Luncheon will be held Saturday, June 17th from 11am to 3pm at the Greenbelt Marriott Hotel and will focus on improving the lives of African American and women and their families. This year’s program includes information on creating generational wealth, entrepreneurship and health issues impacting the Black community.

 

  • The Annual Juneteenth Celebration will be Saturday, June 17th at Walker Mill Regional Park from 12pm to 5pm. The event is family friendly, free, and open to the public. For more information go here:

 

  • The J-Raz Annual Father’s Day Cook-Out is Father’s Day, Sunday, June 18th at Rosaryville State Park in Upper Marlboro. The event is free and features food, drinks, sporting activities, music, and fun for the entire family.  More information can be found here:
