Helping African-American Women Business Owners

Did you that African American Women are the fastest growing population of new business owners. But are the least likely to receive resources to develop and sustain their entrepreneur venture.   This morning on Taking It to the Streets we spotlight the National Coalition of 100 Black Women’s grant program designed to give DC black women business owners a leg up.  My guest is Ayris Scales – President of National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. National Coalition of 100 Black Women Inc. (NCBW), Metropolitan Washington DC Chapter will award grants to black women business owners. Qualifying small businesses can access a grant of up to $1,500 through the program.  The deadline to apply for the MicroGrant application is June 3rd.  To apply, visit
