Helping To Keep The Shores of The Anacoastia Clean

Have you ever wondered why our waterways in the DMV are so polluted and dirty?  Here’s your chance to be a part of an effort to cleanup our waterways.  Ocean Conservancy is hosting its 32nd Annual International Coastal Cleanup this Saturday (September 16th) on Kingman Island right here in the District.  Joining me this morning with the details of how you can help is Julia Roberson – Vice President of Communications for Ocean Conservancy.

Ocean Conservancy is hosting its 32nd Annual International Coastal Cleanup Saturday, September 16th at Kingman Island.  Last year, more than 300 people volunteered to collect some 2,000 pounds of garbage from the shores of the Anacostia in just a few hours.  Ocean Conservancy is hoping to do even more.  For more information go here:
