The DMV Is The Place to Be This Weekend

  • It’s the Season of Giving, so join WHUR for it’s Annual Children’s Coat Drive this Saturday from 12p-4pm at the Shops at Iverson. Help us make a difference in a child’s life. Stop by and drop off a new coat for a needy child in the DMV.

 

  • Saturday night we’re taking the Hang Suite Live from SoBe’s Restaurant and Lounge with Wes Hall along with Michel Wright. It’s an evening with Chante Moore to celebrate the release of her new CD “The Rise of the Phoenix”. Doors open at 6pm, show starts at 8pm.

 

  • Bethesda Blues and Jazz Supper Club presents Incognito this Friday night for two shows, 7& 10pm. Then on Sunday, it’s a Tribute to the music of Gerald Levert, Donnie Hathaway and more, featuring Jamar Dukes and Craig Dobson. Doors open at 5:30 and the show kicks off at 7:30pm.

 

  • Pulitzer Prize-Winning Classic, “Death of a Salesman” is playing at the Fords Theatre running through October 22nd. Go to fords.org for ticket information and show times.

 

  • On Friday: The Wharf Kickoff Celebration
    The highly anticipated opening of The Wharf, which will single-handedly transform the Southwest Waterfrontinto a recreational mecca, comes this October. From Thursday – Sunday, you can take in daytime and sunset fireworks and live music/entertainment (including a performance from Kevin Bacon’s band, The Bacon Brothers, on Thursday) while checking out a slew of new shops and restaurants and waterfront views. No admission charge whatsoever! The Anthem, The Wharf’s 6,000-seat venue, will open with a performance from Foo Fighters on Thursday night .   The Wharf, 690 Water Street SW, Washington, DC 20024
