  • Join Triscina Grey at the “Anthem” for Fantasia’s Christmas After Midnight Show. Featuring Demetria McKinney Saturday, Dec. 9th, Doors open at 6:30 and the show starts at 8pm

 

  • Reid Restoration Center presents Life, Love & Remembrance: A Holiday Celebration, this Saturday from 2pm – 4:30pm at Reid Temple AME Church in Glenn Dale, MD.  Hosted by Taylor Thomas.   More information here: 

 

  • Blues Alley presents Marcus Johnson’s “Holiday Jam”, tonight through Sunday for two shows each night, 8 & 10pm.

 

  • The holiday classic “A Christmas Carol” at the Ford’s Theatre running through December 31st. Go here for tickets and show times.

 

  • The provocative musical journey, Nina Simone: Four Women, is at Arena Stage running through December 24th. Ticket information is here:

 

  • The Metropolitan Cooking & Entertaining Show
    From a Grand Tasting Pavilion featuring more than 50 local restaurants to chances to meet top celebrity chefs, the Metropolitan Cooking & Entertaining Show is like a Super Bowl for foodies. On Saturday and Sunday, the Walter E. Washington Convention Center will also sport tasting and entertaining workshops, a pop-up cooking school and a beer, wine and spirits garden. Finally, award-winning chefs such as Victor Albisu, José Andrés, Marjorie Meek-Bradley, Amy Brandwein and Guy Fieri will participate in fascinating cooking demos. Ready the taste buds for this culinary bonanza.

  • The Second City’s ‘Twist Your Dickens’
    The Second City brings its legendary comedy group to the Kennedy Centerfor an off-the-wall adaptation of A Christmas Carol. Improv and sketch comedy mastery will be on full display during this performance, which will feature characters from Charles Dickens’ classic tale in a different (and hilarious) light. There will be plenty of audience participation, too! Recommended for ages 16 and up. The play runs through Dec. 31.  3 p.m. & 8 p.m.  |  Tickets
