“Taking it to the Streets Weekend Haps”

  • This weekend is going to be a great one for the sports fan.  Starting off Friday as the Washington Capitals face New Jersey Devils at the Verizon Center at 7pm. On Saturday the Washington Wizards will take on the Orlando Magic, at the Verizon Center at 7pm, then on Sunday,  Washington’s NFL team will battle the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at FedEx Field at 1pm.  So if you’re a Washington Sports fan this is an exciting weekend.
  • The Ferguson Foundation, Inc. is hosting their 2nd Annual Emerald and Sapphire Fundraising Gala to help individuals impacted by Rectal Cancer. It’s happening on Friday, November 14, at The Country Club at Woodmore Estates in Mitchellville, Maryland.  For more information log onto
  • On Saturday, BSpeaks International is having their Women’s Empowerment Luncheon called, “Celebrating Women of Courage, Character, & Commitment.”  Its happening at the Leisure World Ballroom located at 3700 Rossmoore Blvd. in Silver Spring .  For more information log onto
  • Don’t forget the WHUR’s Annual Food Drive Food2Feed will be Tuesday November 18th  from 6am to 6pm  at our new location  the Ronald Reagan Building at 13th and  Pennsylvania Ave NW. So be sure to come by and drop any non-perishable food,  write a check, drop off some cash or just stop by and say hello to any other of your favorite WHUR air personalities, we will all be there.
