For Black History Month we have a few events you should check out..

  • Queen Nur’s Voices of Courage: Profiles of 19th Century African American Women at the Publick Playhouse today at 10:15 and noon. Acclaimed storyteller Queen Nur creates indelible portraits of seven pioneering African American women: Sojourner Truth, Maria Stewart, Frances Harper, Cathy Williams, Ida B Well, Mary Church Terrell and Mary McLeod Bethune.Tomorrow you can visit the Smithsonian Anacostia Community Museum and watch the film “Cotton Comes to Harlem.” Show time is 11am and this is a free event.

    Now for some entertainment and information….

  • Chrisette Michele will be a the Fillmore in Sliver Spring tomorrow for a great show starting at 7pm.Also, Friday you can attend the James Brown Dance Party at the Howard
    Theater at 11pm

    On Saturday you can join Triscina Grey at the T-Mobile store at 861 Capital Center Blvd in the Cap Center from 12 to 2. Come check out T-Mobile’s family plans with unlimited data and up to 4 lines for only 150.

 

  • Also Saturday if you are looking for a job head to the Renaissance Washington, DC at 999 9th Street Northwest DC for the Career Recruiting Network job fair.   • Finally on Sunday, K’Jon will be in concert at the legendary Howard Theatre for one night only. Doors open at 6 and the show starts at 7:30
