“Taking it to the Streets Weekend Haps” with Bobby Gailes

 Today we are going to help you plan out your  Labor Day Weekend. Here are some events and activities for the entire family to enjoy.

  • Tomorrow there are two concerts for you to pick from. First Noel Gourdin and Avery Sunshine will be at the Birchmere in Virginia the show starts at 7:30 than Fantasia and special guest Joe will be at the Pier Six Concert Pavilion in Baltimore that show starts at 8.
  • Kankouran is hosting their 31st annual “National African Dance and Drum Conference and Concert,” where nationally and internationally renowned artists will facilitate dancing and drumming workshops—and also be ready for a spectacular concert. This event will be held at the Washington Plaza Hotel, from Friday, August 29th through Sunday, August 31, 2014. For more information, log onto www.KanKouran.org.
  • The “Top Ladies of Distinction” are hosting their 5th Annual Empowerment “In PINK” Fundraiser, Saturday, August 30th from 7pm to 11pm at Martin’s Camelot in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.  For more information go to www.tlodpgcc.org
  • On Sunday the 31st George Benson will be at the Wolf Trap with special guest Andreas Varady for a great show under the stars. This will be a great night and there are still some tickets on sale I would advice you to get yours today.
  • There are few exhibits that are ending this weekend so if you have time check out the “Anchorman: The Exhibit” at the Newseum. This exhibit is based off the 2004 hit comedy “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy” also The Big Maze at the National Building Museum is ending on Labor Day so make sure you take the family out for some Labor Day weekend fun.
  •  Make sure you tune in the “Weekend Review” this Saturday night from 12midnight to 2am as I present a  special musical tribute in honor of the “King of Pop”, Michael Jackson…..”The Man and his Music”
