50 Cent Threatens To Take ‘Power’ To Another Network

Despite the fact that Power is a massive hit and one of Starz most popular shows, it looks like 50 Cent and the network have two very different concepts on the creative direction of the show.

Monday 50 Cent, who is also an executive producer for the show, posted on his Instagram “”I woke up feeling a little different about POWER this morning. If the biggest show on your network doesn’t mean anything, what does your network mean STARZ? I’m taking my talents to south beach f–k this.”

The post from 50 Cent followed Courtney Kemp’s revelation that this past week’s episode was originally supposed to have two parts, per XXL Magazine. Kemp claims that there were even plans to focus more on Ghost’s time in prison, along with other story details, but writers were forced to cut them short.

Starz, however, did not green light a 12-episode season, which made the previous episode, be packed into the show’s typical hour-long showing.

50 Cent has threatened to leave Power multiple times before. One of those times being when he was infuriated after his genitals were displayed in a scene from season three, which he claims he was not warned about.

Hopefully, 50 Cent and Starz can compromise on the direction of the show, otherwise, audiences surely would not mind seeing another network pickup the show and give it the creative freedom it deserves.

The future of Power is still to be determined, but make sure to tune in to the next episode this Sun., Aug.6.
