There will be an Amy Winehouse hologram tour set for 2019.

In 2011 the soulful singer passed away due to alcohol poisoning at the age of 27. The death of the British songstress shook the music world and sparked an ongoing conversation about artists and substance abuse.

According to CNN, the Winehouse’s estate has partnered with Base Hologram to produce the tour in honor of the singer’s legacy.

The tour announcement was made at the Amy Winehouse Foundation’s annual gala in London by her father, Base Hologram productions, and Marty Tudor.

Base Hologram stated that the tour will feature, “digitally remastered arrangements of her classics, the hologram will be backed by a live band, singers and theatrical stagecraft.”

Winehouse’s father, Mitch, expressed how important the tour is to him and weighs in on how his daughter’s music has impacted the world.

“To see her perform again is something special that really can’t be put into words. Our daughter’s music touched the lives of millions of people and it means everything that her legacy will continue in this innovative and groundbreaking way.”

As reported by Independent, the money from the tour will go towards the Amy Winehouse Foundation, a charity that raises awareness for drug and alcohol abuse and also helps towards the development of disadvantaged youth through music.
Even though Winehouse’s father is looking forward to the worldwide tour, there are many mixed emotions from the late singer’s fans. Some express their joy while others relay their disapproval of a holographic Amy.
Along with the hologram tour Winehouse’s family has approved a biopic for the singer that is currently in the works.
According to RollingStone, The Winehouse family will be executive producers on the upcoming biopic and all proceeds from the film will go towards the Amy Winehouse Foundation.
Mitch Winehouse spoke out about the decision to make a biopic of his daughter’s life and how it will bring awareness to others who watch it.
“We now feel able to celebrate Amy’s extraordinary life and talent.”
“And we know through the Amy Winehouse Foundation that the true story of her illness can help so many others who might be experiencing similar issues.”
There’s a lot in store for the Winehouse family as they pay homage to the singer that has touched many hearts.
