“Blackish” star and Howard University Alum, Anthony Anderson, is currently under criminal investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department after being accused of sexual assault.

The actor, who just received his fourth straight Emmy nomination for his role as Andre Johnson in the ABC sitcom, allegedly assaulted a woman after an event she catered for him, the Blast reports.

The Blast cites sources familiar with the parties involved and the situation who say the girl visited with Anderson a second time after the event to discuss business opportunities when the assault occurred. She later filed a police report with the Hollywood Division of the LAPD.

LAPD confirmed the existence of the investigation with Variety, but gave no insight to the details of the case.

Anderson denies the accusations against him. “It’s unfortunate that anyone can file a police report, whether it is true or false,” Anderson’s rep said in a statement to Variety.

This isn’t the first time the actor has faced allegations of this severity. He, along with director Wayne Witherspoon, were accused of raping one of the extras on the set of the 2004 film, “Hustle & Flow.” The charges were dropped when a judge ruled there wasn’t enough probable cause to try the case.

Anderson is slated to receive his star on the Walk of Fame later this year.
