Since his presidency, Donald Trump has bumped heads with the press and journalists across all media outlets.

During a press conference the day after the midterms National Urban Radio Network White House correspondent, April Ryan, attempted to ask Trump a question. While trying to ask the question he told her to “sit down.”

Trump repeatedly told her this, in some would argue a harsh tone.

“Sit down. I didn’t call on you,” he stated after calling on Daily Caller correspondent Saager Enjeti, as reported by The Hill.

He continued with,”it’s such a hostile media,” after going back-and-forth with Ryan.

The incident received much backlash, as Ryan wasn’t the only one who Trump clashed with during the conference.

After the exchange Ryan went on “The View” to talk about what happened. She stated that she shouted out a question to the president on voter suppression in which Trump then responded to, and she believed his response was an opening to continue forth, according to ABC News.

“You know what that question was… it was voter suppression and he responded and he responded yea I got voter suppression or something like that and so I stood up I thought he was receiving my question and wanted to talk about it, and then when he sees me, he says ‘sit down’ you know, in a very terse tone. I was taken aback,” she said.

To make matters worse, Trump spoke out about the incident to CNN and exclaimed Ryan was a “loser” and “nasty,” as reported by The Daily Caller.

“I mean, you talk about somebody that’s a loser,” he said. “She doesn’t know what the hell she’s doing. She gets publicity and then she gets a pay raise — she gets a contract with, I think, CNN.”

“But she’s very nasty and she shouldn’t be. You’ve gotta treat the White House and the office of the presidency with respect,” he concluded.

On “The View” Ryan also commented on the interview with CNN.

“As a reporter who’s been doing this for 21 years, you want access,” she exclaimed the show’s co-hosts. “You want ask to your question, so there was a moment where the president had finished answering a question and he was finding someone to call on for the next time. There was pregnant moment, that pregnant pause that I lobbed a question in, and he responded.”

While the president continued to tear Ryan down, CNN White House correspondent Jim Acosta, who also received harsh treatment from Trump during the conference, came to her defense in a tweet.

Although taken aback by how Trump treated her at the press conference Ryan stated on Twitter that she loves, “this country and have the most respect for the Office of the President,” and she, “will continue to ask the questions that affect America, all of America.”
