Blackish star Yara Shahidi has a 4.6 GPA and definitely got into all the colleges she applied to based off her own merit but I’m sure Michelle Obama‘s letter of recommendation may have given the actress’ applications just a little extra push over the top.
“I did get all of my college acceptances, and I’m keeping them close to the belt as of right now, but I got into every college I applied to. So that’s really exciting,” the 17-year-old told Seventeen magazine.
“I found all of that out last week. My college plans are all up in the air, but I will choose within the next month.”
The social activist first met Michelle Obama at the International Day of the Girl event in Washington, D.C., in October of last year. Shahidi intends to double-major in African American studies and sociology.
“She is very amazing and such a supporter, which is something very surreal to say,” Shahidi said.
There are talks about ABC creating a spin-off show starring her Blackish character Zoey as she goes off to school.
