Time Magazine has finally revealed its annual list of 100 most influential people in the world Thursday with Chadwick Boseman and Tiffany Haddish both being featured on the list. This year’s list includes record-breaking numbers of 45 women and 45 people under the age of 40.

Every year, Time makes a list of notable people who use their leadership as a way to positively change the world and to push barriers forward of what it means to be an influencer in today’s age.

Time’s Editor-in-Chief Edward Felsenthal wrote in a letter to USA Today, “The TIME 100, always a reflection of its moment, looks quite different than in the past. Influence increasingly knows no single zip code and no minimum age.”

The magazine usually allows other influencers to be guest contributors and write their own unfeigned pieces about all of the 100 people featured on the list.

“They have the power so often inherent in youth: to see the world anew; to reject the old constraints, outdated conventions and cowardice too often dressed up as wisdom,” former president Barack Obama wrote regarding Jaclyn Corin, Emma Gonzalez, David Hogg, Cameron Kasky, and Alex Wind (The Parkland Kids).

Some recognizable honorees include Tiffany HaddishSterling K. Brown, Lena Waithe, Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna, Janet Mock, Maxine Waters, and Virgil Abloh. The full list can be viewed here.

“While we remain much too far from gender parity in global leadership, there are more women than ever on this year’s TIME 100, proof that there are ways of changing the world beyond traditional power structures,” Felsenthal said to USA Today.
Sean “Diddy” Combs stated, “It feels like every time Chadwick Boseman appears onscreen, he’s finding a new way to inspire…. And now as the Black Panther, he’s inspiring everyone, but especially black youth, who deserve to see superheroes like them, to show them that truly anyone can be a superhero.”

Past honorees of Time’s Most Influential list include Beyonce, Chance the Rapper, Donald Glover, Alicia Keys, Ava DuVernay, John Legend, and many more.
