‘Family Matters’ Actor Accused of Abusing Wife and Infant Child

Actor Darius McCrary has been accused of physically abusing his wife Tammy Brawner and infant daughter. Darius McCrary played Eddie Winslow on the hit 90’s sitcom ‘Family Matters.’

Brawner was granted a restraining order earlier this month after claiming she and her one-year-old daughter repeatedly suffered abuse at the hands of her husband. She recalled an incident where McCrary held their daughter over a pot of boiling hot water claiming he wished they never had the child. The report also cites the actor struck his infant daughter in the head with his forearm. Brawner claims her husband also abuses drugs and alcohol.

The judge ruled in favor of Brawner and ordered Darius to move out of their home and stay at least 100 yards away from his wife and baby at all times.

The actor’s attorney stated:

” [Tammy] is no victim … she is a predator motivated by a desperate desire to extort money out of Mr. McCrary while trying to create an advantage in an impending divorce and custody battle.”
