Open enrollment for healthcare runs Nov 1 – Dec 15. The 2018 open enrollment period for the federal government’s health insurance exchange will run for six weeks — half as long as last year. The site has also been shut down on weekends. All healthcare plans for 2018 go into effect Jan 1, 2018. Individuals can enroll at Healthcare.gov. Help to spread the word!

President Trump has vowed to slash the program’s advertising budget in an attempt to sabotage the Affordable Care Act and has come through on his promise. The advertising budget has been cut by 90 percent. More significant change may soon come down the pipe as he uses his executive authority to compromise those who need coverage the most.
