If It Were YOUR Child That Fell Into The Gorilla’s Enclosure, Would YOU Be Upset?

I thought this was a no-brainer. Over the holiday weekend a 4-year-old child fell into a gorilla enclosure at the Cincinnati Zoo. Zookeepers made the decision to shoot and kill the rare gorilla in order to rescue the child. Thank God, the child was rescued and is safe and recuperating in the hospital.

Yes, I am all for animal rights and protecting the rights of animals and it is unfortunate the gorilla lost his life but why is the nation all up in arms over the killing of a wild gorilla in order to save the life of a 4-year-old child? The video of the encounter went viral and after seeing how the gorilla dragged the child for about ten minutes until the child lost consciousness, it’s amazing the child did not suffer more extensive injuries.

What are your thoughts on this? If YOUR 4-year-old child had fallen into a gorilla enclosure and was dragged around for ten minutes before losing consciousness, would you be upset if the gorilla was shot and killed to save YOUR baby?

Now an online petition has been created to challenge the decision to kill the gorilla. Are you serious? Come on people! This is a no-brainer!

If you haven’t had the chance to watch the startling video, please take a look:
