Kim Burrell Speaks Out Against Gays and Lesbians

Gospel’s Kim Burrell is currently under fire for her comments regarding gays and lesbians that went viral after video of a sermon was released on the internet. Burrell says she makes “no excuses or apologies” for comments at a Houston church where she referred to gays and lesbians as perverted.

She said that “the perverted homosexual spirit, and the spirit of delusion and confusion, it has deceived many men and women.” She referred to specific homosexual acts as perverted.

Burrell is scheduled to perform alongside Pharrell on Thursday January 5 on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. DeGeneres is an openly gay woman married to actress Portia De Rossi.

Pharrell posted on Instagram that “I condemn hate speech of any kind,” although he made no specific reference to his duet partner.

Burrell said that she has never discriminated against gays and lesbians. “I love you and God loves you,” she said. “But God hates the sin.”

Recent reports confirm Kim Burrell will not be performing on The Ellen Show at this time.
