As reported by Variety, the ‘We Belong Together’ singer spoke upon her single “GTFO” and why she released it first.

“I wanted to give my fans and everyone a first listen that wasn’t so serious. I’ve had so much fun making this album, and I wanted the first moment to reflect that light-hearted spirit.”

The new album comes after her partnering with Epic Records last spring and her signing a management deal with Roc Nation last year as well.

Even after the less than favorable performance Carey gave at the Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest no one can deny the singer’s melodic and wide vocal range.

All in all, Carey has been in the music industry since the early 90s and has made an impact with albums like “Daydream,” “The Emancipation of Mimi,” and “E=MC2.”
