Matt Lauer Issues Statement On Sexual Harassment Allegations And Firing

Matt Lauer released an official statement regarding the sexual harassment allegations that led to NBC News terminating the anchor’s relationship with the organization. Savannah Guthrie read Lauer’s statement on the air Thursday.


ORIGINAL POST — Morning anchor of NBC’s TODAY Show Matt Lauer has been fired from the network. TODAY Show posted this statement on their Facebook page Wednesday morning.

“On Monday night, we received a detailed complaint from a colleague about inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace by Matt Lauer. As a result, we’ve decided to terminate his employment.”

Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotbe made the announcement Wednesday.
